Dr. Mergaman completed his residency in Anesthesiology at the Downstate Medical School in Brooklyn, New York.  He also completed internship/ residency in General Surgery at the Wilmington Medical Center in Wilmington, Delaware.  Dr. Mergaman received his Medical Degree from the Ross University school of Medicine and B.A. degree in Psychology from Rutgers University.

Dr Mergaman is certified by the American Academy of Pain Management.  He has served as Clinical Instructor for department of Anesthesiology for both Drexel University and Hahnemann University of Philadelphia.  His is a member of the American Academy of Pain Management.  Dr. Jay Mergaman has served as Vice Chairman and Chairman of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at Elkins Park Hospital, Warminster Hospital and Central Montgomery Medical Hospital.  He is currently Chief of Anesthesiology at Abington Health Lansdale Hospital.
